Terra, a leading Internet company affiliated with Telefonica, is many things:
it is an Internet connectivity provider offering ADSL solutions to
pymes (small and medium-size companies), a virtual store with a number of product offerings, and a voluminous portal with news and information on multitude of topics.
The company wanted to offer clients without technical expertise a way to create a website and/or Internet store easily, quickly, simply and automatically.
eBD's ease of use, flexibility, accessibility and scalability was perfect for the creation and management of Terra virtual storefronts and websites, which they could then use to commercialize Telefonica ADSL solutions to pymes.
Solution
The eBD development team worked alongside Terra representatives to differentiate product offerings into a catalog of products, some of which could be offered to existing clients.
Different prototypes, templates and page styles were designed, and a unique BackOffice was implemented that allowed each business to manage its own family of products, pages, image catalog, orders, payment and distribution methods, forms, etc.
Pymes could also perform advanced functions, like editing content in any language, personalizing devices used to access the web, managing its repertoire of products and webpages, and changing the design of an entire store with easy-to-use screens and wizards.
All of this was developed with eBD.
Results
The system was up and running at the end of last year, and since then, the number of clients has not stopped growing.
Additionally, new options have been incorporated to the project that have increased its functionality and extended the possibilities.
Due to the success of these web applications, Grupo Telefonica has seen increased sales particularly in the pyme sector.
