EBD depicted the technological trends and innovations for the Government

IDC organized its annual “IT Government & e-Health 2009”last October in Madrid. The event was focused in the definition of the current environment of technological innovation and highlighted the best practices to improve the public services, the democracy process and the public policies to reinforce relationships with the citizens

EBD took a leading role in the event. On one hand, Raúl Guiñales, EBD Channel Manager and César Armengol, EBD Telco Sales Manager, depicted their vision and experience describing the web applications developed on EBD platform for a complete renewal of Government technology approach to the society. They explained success stories such as the intranet system for the Spanish Interior Department Web Platform for tracking gender-based violence cases, the portal generator for the Federacion Canaria de Deportes, the strategic planning tool called Local Action Plan at Sant Boi de Llobregat Local Government, or the “Citizen Folder” as wining sample of a solution to reinforce the communications between Cambril's City Hall and its citizens.

On the other hand, Marta Rosell, Content Director at XAL (Local TV Network) presented “Convergence between internet and TV, and its value to bring public services”. In her speech she commented the process implemented by EBD and the Web TV portal engine created to support the value chain in the local communication of contents, news and services, and how to effectively bring them to the audience. The attendees to the conference discovered how the Web TV platform developed on EBD Web Video Player is currently one of the most advanced solutions to broadcast contents and services.

The significant presence of EBD solutions in the Government, its knowledge and expertise in this industry were highly worthy to show to the audience how to leverage new web 2.0 technologies to strengthen the communication with the citizens.
